I can't believe I just found out. I first saw Delaney at the BanDar in Ventura. He was playing his Danelectro bass and singing Kansas City. He was a great musician, player and singer. RIP

I don't know how the news of Delaney's passing got to me until nearly 8 months after the fact. Anyhoo, I wish to honor him, Bonnie and all his friends, whether they made that incomparable soulful sound with him or heard it on recordings or in person. I found out too late also about Jerry Wexler's death; oh, how I would have loved to be a fly on the wall on Wexler's porch when Delaney and Duane played!

Thinking about Delaney on his birthday, wishin' he was here celebrating with his friends and family. But no doubt the jam is on up in heaven, if i close my eyes, I can hear the sweet sounds of Delaney's guitar. How blessed we all are to have been touched by his gift.

Delaney Bramlett was as fine a picker as I ever heard. The music & direction he put together for others will never be duplicated. With Bonnie they were as good as anyone at any time. The real music world has lost a special member. I'll miss him.
