Delaney

- Sounds From Home

Zane

Delaney Bramlett was one of the great Muscle Shoals Soul Singers an Musicians. He played with everyone; Duane Allman. Eric Clapton, Leon Russell and others of that ilk. Along with his wife Bonnie Bramlett he made some great albums in the 70's, He had a wonderful smooth voice. That was 30 years ago.

Thirty years can be a long time, and Delaney Bramlett has always been a hard liver. In this instance you might say that Delaney was not only a hard liver, but that he has a hard liver. A lot of his 70's compadres are dead. But not Delaney. He might have dropped off the map for awhile, but he's back with a vengeance. His voice has deepened and developed a whisky and cigarette growl, but it has lost none of it's passion. It's gained passion in fact.

This is a twangfree album. It's more of a Muscle Shoals Album. Delaney still has the groove. Mississippi has that soul groove that was documented on the 1973 album Motel Shot. The old funky, soulful singer is back. Surrounded by a crack team of musicians, this disc rocks. There's a funky groove thruout. Welcome back Delany, Glad you ain't dead.
