Is there anyway to find out what Bekka is doing? I went on Delberts cruise in January and she was fantastic and she said she owed it all to you and her mama. Sorry Bonnie didn't get to come. I guess the CD she was recording had priorities. Thank you in advance, I'd love to say Hi to her. Carol

Delaney, I hope you dont mind me asking a few questions about Daune. I am a big fan of his (and of course I like your music very much). When Daune played acoustic with you what tunings did he use on 'Come on in my kitchen' etc. Was he playing a dobro or just regular tuning? I love the session he did with Cowboy (Please be with me),I was mondering if you can tell me what tuning he plays for this tune. I suspect it's open 'D' but I cannot figure out the positions from the solo/fills. I guess you have many memories of Daune I have to pinch myself to realize it was all that time ago when he passed away and only 24. I have been to macon and vistited Rose Hill (I was a soccer coach in America at the time 1989). You made some fantastic records back then and I've got that radio show you did with Daune/Greg and King Curtis...still got the albums. Will you ever tour the UK again? kindest regards Alan

Delaney is alittle like an American John Mayall: his influence is hard to overstate on truly legendary performers; yet, he has not really gotten his due. Are the early D and B albums going to be released domestically? God Bless and Good Luck!

Delaney, I really love and respect your great music and talent. But there's an album of yours and Bonnie which I can't find any references anywhere, that is "Country Life". Does it really exist or am I making some mistake? Please understand that here in Brazil it is very hard to find your records. Anyway I could get almost all of them, includind the fantastic "Class Reunion", whose song Locked Up In Alabama my daughter Sylvia, age 5, asks me to play for her over and over and it's lovely to see her dancing along. Best Regards, Geraldo

Happened to run across your website today. I used to play lead behind Bonnie when she was still in St. Louis. I talked to you briefly on the phone when Bonnie suggested I join your group. I've been kicking myself ever since because I said no. A few months after I talked to you and decided not to come out west, I found your D&B on tour with Eric Clapton album. I told everyone you had to settle for Clapton instead of me...HA! You've been associated with some of my favorite music all along. I used to really like James Burton and anyone who likes Albert King is ok in my book. Your "southern/funky/blues/country" sound was ahead of its time. I loved it then and still do. Its great to see you still making music. Keep it up. Jim Hoff

Delane, doubt you remember meeting me; but you made a great impression on my daughter, Holly (27), when she visited you with Fulton & Pauline [TOO MANY years ago]. You haven't met my son, Jay (James Keith, Jr, 23). They both talk about you & Bekka frequently. Keith is doing ok; on wife no 4 and still into the horse scene. We all miss Fulton; he had a way, you know. Sherry has been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer & the prognosis is not good. She has 3 boys, Bo (28), Brian (23) & Alex (by 2nd husband) about 10. Julie's somewhere in NY and we never see her or Peggy. It's a shame; Fulton was the tie that bound the family together. I'll put some pics up when I can. We are all glad 'yawl' are doing good. Take care.

Delaney, I too am a fan. However, I write to you for a specific purpose. I am working on an article to be published on Duane Allman. It will be 30 years since his death this October and I am collecting stories from his friends and aquaintances. This is my own labor of love, but I believe that many people will enjoy learning more about the personal side of the man of which so little is known. I hope you will be able to add something if you can find time. I understand if you don't want to. Either way, I remain a fan and admirer. By the way, Sam the Sham, Spooner Oldham, and Herbie Mann have all contributed to the cause. Here's hoping, Stuart.

Dear Delaney, Get well and keep on. Your band was the very best evolution of American Rock 'n' Roll ever to occur. The blend of rockabilly, blues, rythym and blues, folk, electric, acoustic, horns, voices, all of it. Absolutely the peak of American rock. That is what brought everyone to their feet and caused more influence than any American band of the era. The English scene fed for years off of the influence of the band and still does in many ways. Leon has never been the same since that period though Carl and many others played with him from Oklahoma out. It was your incarnation, songs, and performances that caused everyone to wish they had done it as well. Bonnie is still the greatest female vocalist with no one to this day getting close to her outside of Aretha and Shaka. I cannot tell you how deep my appreciation goes for you and your artistry. Guitar licks, vocals, lyrics, nothing like. Been out on the road, about six months too long. I am overjoyed to find your website and sincerely hope you get better and do well. As a Ph.D., I am practiced in analysis and even wrote a score for an Oscar winning film. My greatest pleasure is still sitting down and playing your songs on the guitar and listening to my old records. I am delighted to see some CD releases and will be after them shortly. Again, I am thrilled to see you on the WEB and hope you read this. Best, Paul Apodaca, Ph.D. Chapman University

DEAR DELANEY; FIRST, THE BAD NEWS. I WAS DEEPLY SADDENED TO HEAR OF YOUR RECENT TROUBLES. I PRAY THAT WHEN THE SHOCK AND OUTRAGE OF THIS TERRIBLE ORDEAL SUBSIDE, YOU WILL SOMEHOW BE ABLE TO MOVE BEYOND THE DEEP FEELINGS OF PERSONAL VIOLATION AND MATERIAL LOSS, AND CONCENTRATE ON RESTORING YOUR SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL WELL BEING. REMEMBER: WHATEVER DON'T KILL YA MAKES YA STRONGER. (DANG. I THINK I FEEL A SONG A COMIN' ON.) THE GOOD NEWS? I GOT A CALL THE OTHER DAY FROM TIM HOOVER. TALK ABOUT "A BOLT OF OF THE BLUE," IT SEEMS TIM HAS PICKED UP THE TORCH ON AN OLD FLAME I THOUGHT I HAD TO LET GO OF A LONG TIME AGO: KING CURTIS. I GUESS SOME THINGS ARE JUST "A NEVER ENDING SONG OF LOVE." DURING THE LATE 80's, I ATTEMPTED TO PRODUCE A SIMILAR LABOR OF LOVE ON CURTIS, IN THE FORM OF A DOCUMENTARY. UNFORTUN- ATELY MY POCKETS JUST WEREN'T DEEP ENOUGH, AND WITH ALL OF THE DOORS SLAMMING IN MY FACE, I RAN OUT OF CHEEKS TO TURN. I WISH I COULD HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH YOU WAY BACK THEN, BUT I GUESS AL GORE HADN'T FINISHED INVENTING THE INTERNET YET. ANYHOW, I'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU SOMETIME, WHEN YOU'RE FEEL- ING UP TO IT, "REACH OUT," THE OLD FASHIONED WAY. IT MIGHT DO US BOTH A WORLD OF GOOD...or not. INCIDENTALLY, I HAVE A VERY GOOD LEAD ON THAT DEAR OLD FRIEND OF YOURS...TIM WILL PROBABLY BE PASSING IT ON TO YOU SOON. RECOOP YOUR SPIRIT AND THE REST & BEST WILL FOLLOW. :) DOK.

What a fine site almost as good as your music. I have been a fan since 1970 and I have all the LP's of Delaney and Bonnie plus a few when "you " split up. One of the biggest regrets of my life is that I never saw the "Band" live, Is there Video? Thank you for the happiness you have brought to me throughout the years through your music. And I hope that life is as meaningfull to you as your songs and music have been to me.

Hi Delaney- I am in the process of researching and writing a biography about your dear friend, King Curtis (Ousley). I have already spoken to Jerry Wexler, who was absolutely wonderful to interview. Would you be willing to contribute some memories, etc. towards this project? I am happy to do an interview over the phone (as I did with Jerry), or I would be delighted to talk in person(I'll be in San Fran as soon as late Feb., and could slip down to L.A. to talk as well). I realize your schedule is plenty full, but I hope we can get together one way or another as your experiences and perspective are vital to this effort. This book is a real labor of love, and I hope we can speak sometime in the near future. Take care- Tim Hoover

Hi Delaney...just wandered over from Rick Allen's website..another one of my favorites. Your music has been knocking me out for a long time, and it's cool as all gitout that you have a site where folks can stop by and see what you're up to. The check's in the mail for some CDs;) A question for anyone reading: Anyone know the wherabouts of Tommy Talton and Scott Boyer, of the band Cowboy? Last I heard, Tommy was living in Fla. and Scott was in the Muscle Shoals area, maybe Decatur? I heard Scott plays gigs in the area, and if so, I'd be thankful if someone could drop me a line and tell me where I might go to hear him play. He had a band called The Decoys, but I don't think they are together these days. Thanks, all. Take it easy...

Hey Delaney, Thinking way back you may remember me as the "now extremely former" drummer for "WARRANT". I've been wanting to get in touch with Bekka for quite some time now and honestly could use hers and your help. After a long, post bankrupcy hiatus, I've been working on finding my "Voice" (and I have) and REALLY want to break into the circle and do some real studio/tour work. Of course I still play drums (like riding a bike... or horse) but my true soul can only best be expressed through singing. I appreciate any contact you may be able to provide. Hope all is well. - Steven

I found out about Delaney and Bonnie in an indirect way. Although I grew up listening to music in the late 1960's and early 1970's, it wasn't until I heard the Jerry Garcia Band version of "Lonesome and a Long Way from Home" did I become curious about the origin of this beautiful song. Some more checking led me to your site, as I was looking for the album (Motel Shot) on which this song appears. GDTRFB (a Woody Guthrie--later GD staple) also piqued my interest about this album. I hope to see it soon on CD, but not as an import. Groovy site! Thanks for making it happen!

Glad to see that Delaney is still creating great and meaningful music! I have a longshot question. A couple of members of Delaney's band during the main Clapton work forked off to form a Christian focused band. Delaney, you had an album cover with a picture made in front of what we call "the cabin" in Randolph, MS. We had Thanksgiving yesterday and Aunt Laverne told us about it. My brothers and I were wondering how to get that cd or album. Can you give me the name of it. You came by my grandfather's a couple of years before he died (Dock Radford Steward) and it meant a great deal to the family. Aunt Laverne has received many letters over the years from your mom. We hope all is well with you. I saw the Tonight Show the night Bekka sang with Vince Gill. How is Johnny Wayne? Good luck and best wishes from your family in Pontotoc County!

I am originally an Okie from Tulsa, so have followed your stuff via Leon Russell, JJ Cale and Eric Clapton connections. Just returned from London on a biz trip and took a trip out to Eric's hometown of Ripley. Pretty exciting for a fan like me. Bought one of his guitar's last year. While doing some web recon on Eric, found your site. Must have been great working with all of those talented musicians. Looks like you are still very busy in the biz. Hope to checkout some of the CD's on your site, soon. Steve

Hey Delaney ! I signed the book yesterday and when iI logged on today I didn't see it, so I'm signing again just in case you didn't get it. Delaney, when you did your little jam session this summer for us, you sang the song "Everybody Loves a Winner" and I fell in love with that song and I was wondering if you have ever relased. Jason and I bought Sounds From Home and we love it. Just let me know about the song. And believe it or not I did finally send your preserves. I sent them today. I sent peach, pear and blackberry. I know you said that your mother liked the peach and pear, so I sent both. Are you going to be in town any time before the benefit concert this summer? Jason and I would love to see you guys. Oh by the way, when I mentioned your name the other day, Colton looked at me and said "Momma, I want to go see Delaney. He is my friend." Well, I'm rambling. Talk to you guys soon. Oh, Isigned Bekka's page yesterday and told her who I was, but I don't know if she remembers me. So if she says some weird girl signed my book the other day and says she knows me, then that was me. HAHA! Let me know how you like the preserves. LOVE YA, BRANDI

Hey Delaney ! Ijust got through with another e-mail to you and then I remembered that I had a question for Delaney. Last summer during your informal jam session, you did a song for all of us called Everybody Loves A Winner. I have been singing that song eversince and I was wondering if you had ever released it or is it just a tune you've written and not released? I got your "Sounds From Home" and I love it Jason and I listen all the time, but I would also like to have the other song.If you have not released then will you at least play it next summer at the concert? Lots of Love and hope to see you soon, BRANDI

Hey Delaney, Kim & Mamo: Knowing that you folks have supported Ronnie Mack and The Barndance over the years - I thought that I'd let you and your faithful fans know about the following benefit: A Tribute to Ronnie Mack's Barndance Crazy Jack's, 4311 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank Tuesday, October 24, 2000 For almost 13 years, Ronnie Mack's Tuesday-night Barndance was an oasis of all types of roots music for musicians, fans, and many who were both. It's only been gone a month, and the roots scene already feels lost without it; the Barndance fostered community like no other club, and for no cover charge. Mack, who produced the event (some would say at the expense of his own musical career), recently had his musical instruments and equipment (save a single acoustic guitar) stolen from his home. This show's an opportunity for the community he helped build to pay him back just a little of its immeasurable debt. Advance tickets are $15 and include a barbecue-chicken dinner and an auction of Barndance memorabilia donated by many of its biggest artists. Call 310-440-4958 or email beans@starcomp.net to see if you can still get one, or you can wait in line -- some tickets will be available at the door. Failing that, we suggest that you make a donation; checks should be payable to Ronnie Mack and sent to: A Tribute to Ronnie Mack's Barndance, c/o The Bean Counters, 12225 San Vicente Blvd., #115, Brentwood, CA 90049. It's only right. Larry

The very first time I saw you play live was at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A.about 1968 or 69. The stage was packed with what seemed like 30 musicians. The next time was in 1972 at a show that I produced. Even though I'm stuck in a wheelchair now it would be an honor to be your agent again. I spoke to you over the phone about a year ago and you invited me to come over and visit. Is the invite still open? I would love to see You and your Mom.I really love your Mom. We have spent countless hours on the phone talking about this and that. Your web page is fantastic and rich with info. Please write back or call. Dear Delaney, I am a vocalist in my town and am searching for the music and lyrics to a tune I used to do in a road band years ago. All I have is the lyrics to the 1st verse and what I hope is the correct memory that it came from you and/or Bonnie. It begins - People are talkin' All over town They say you're tired of me baby You don't want me around Please don't leave me Don't deceive me Please don't go. My memory is not the best with such a great amount of time (20 years at least) between now and then. But if you could help - I would be grateful. Thank you, Joann Allen qncanary@aol.com

Hi Delaney, I am mailing from Germany, Europe. Just a few days ago I listened to one of your old records. And I came across "Country Life". Years ago I moved from the city to the country. I like the song but cannot understand all of the lyrics. Is it possible to get them? I first saw you and Bonnie on TV over here at the time you toured with Eric Clapton. Then I started buying your records and I think I've got about ten, all still in vinyl. I still love to listen to your music. Unfortunately we don't hear so much about you nowadays over here. I hope to hear from you. Maybe you will send the lyrics or give me an idea where to get them. I also would love to find out what you are doing these days and what sort of music. Would love to buy Kim's album, if enough interest. I am an all-time Delaney fan-a-tic. No one, I mean, no one clomes close. As former Gen Mgr of A&M Records, New York 1976-78, I 've heard the rest and Delaney's the best. Have since returned to the civilian life, however Delaney's stuff has n\more "legs" than anything I've ever heard as well as more true soulfullness and feeling. Knocks me out everytime, none better. Great website. Thanks again. Sincerely, Jimmy Zisson

Hi, Trying everywhere to get an E mail address for Bekka to complete a feature article for insertion in the magazine. Stumbled on her music through a newly written line dance which is sensational and just been released here.(Patient Heart, to the same title from the Bekka & Billy Album) I was a fan of yours way back and a fan of Fleetwood Mac wher I first heard Bekka and now to my surprise having found myself involved in Country/Line dancing in the U.K. I find your daughter re emerging. I want to promote the dance and in particular Bekka's music for further possible dances, but need to contact her a.s.a.p. Can you help??? Chris Claxton (u.K.

Delaney, I have recently been visiting the BRAMLETT site and stumbled upon your name and hyperlink. It jogged my memory and I remembered that in the 60's I danced in a show called "Shout Baby Shout" (based in L.A.) and was amazed to meet another dancer in the show whose name was Patti Bramlett. Wonder what ever happened to her? (Just curious) (Just some notes on some Bramletts' I know (my family). My father,Bill Lou Bramlett passed away many years ago, but was a wonderful country singer. He always said he helped write "When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again". (and never received a dime for it,according to him). He lived most of his young life in Oklahoma (near Lawton) and had a brother named Ray, sisters - Aileen, Loretta, and BettyJean. Dad was a guitarist and his greatest love was music. He passed it on to me as I am still singing conventions and clubs (perform folk, Dylan and Beatles, etc, with my husband - and perform 40's and 50's music with my local big band guys.) My daughter, Tracy (a fabulous singer/ writer) was voted Portland's best new artist of the year a few years ago and continues to play the local music scene - She hopes to put up a site this year offering her CD's of original music. My youngest child Scott Wray, 17 years is thought by many, to be a "genius" or "monster" on the guitar. (And no lessons yet) This beautiful musical gift is a blessing but there are times it can feel like a curse. (as I'm sure you know) Anyway it is dad's 'BRAMLETT" legacy and I'm sure that it will continue to be "divined" to certain Bramletts of each new generation. Thank you for your musical contribution to this world too! I trust God is blessing you still and always will. Carolee Bramlett - Carrara PS Are we related? (Just started my search for relatives) Grandma was Edna Pearlee -OK P.s.s. If you want to see a photo of this Bramlett (me), go to my site at www.romeosgarden.com and click on About Me.

It has been 30 years since that glorious sublime work of Derek and the dominos was created. Many of the songs have never been played live. It is unlikely that Eric would ever want to re-perform the album, but perhaps you could put together a small tour with the appropriate musicians and give this music a renaissance. There is a huge audience with substantial incomes willing to pay Stones prices for such an event. Need an investor?

I'm sending off a check for the new CD tomorrow! As lead singer for the GroanUps for the last 15 years, I am indebted to you for helping form a good part of my singing style! Please visit my site and listen to yet another one of your invisible proteges (band mpeg clips are on page 3). That Bekka wails, too! You done good in the *daddy* department. My oldest son, Richard, has a band (calico.) and CD and website, also (see page 2 of my site for link). Happy to be the 1st guestbook signer of the new year/century/whatever. Dear Delaney, Kim, Mamo, and anyone else sitting out there on the front porch. It was with great pain that I heard that Tom had passed on. I got the word from Peter Klimes, who was contacted by Jan, about three weeks ago. May Tom's soul rest in peace. This site is out-a-sight. What a great thing for you guys. Jake (our son) and I are working with Mark Karan, Bob Gross, John Molo, and our B-3 player Arlan in a band called "Jahmimah Puddleduck." And, of course it is an offshoot of Mark's work with "The Other Ones" (Grateful Dead) and Mickey Hart's "Planet Drum," and "Ratdog." We have only played two shows, Ventura Theater w/ Merle Saunder's Rainforest Band and a two-day outdoor festival in Mission Bay back on the 10th of October w/ Robby Krieger Band. Both shows were great fun. We will be headed up to the North Shore in Tahoe to play at Harpo's on January 18th and 19th. Kim! Do you still have that dang Dodge that I worked on with the bad catalytic convertor? On the serious side--I have no mailing address whatsover for Tom's daughter, Jen. I do have his Mother's phone number but I felt it would be very poor of me at this time of the season to call and bring this subject up with her. So--if you have some way for me to contact his daughter--please forward the info to the listed e-mail address. May God Bless you all. You are in our hearts daily. How is your friend in Massachuetsetts, Josh and I prayed for him. I don't know if josh told you but my father passed away shortly after we got back to Ohio, so I guess it was meant to be that we left when we did. I wanted to thank you again for all of you kindness, you are all wonderful people. I was wondering if you would mind listening to some more of my material. I've been writing quite abit and I'm trying to get all of my songs on tape. It would mean alot to me if I could get your guys's opinion on some of those songs. Please let me know. Well I've got to get going now, so i'll talk to you guys later. Love you guys, brian.

Greetings, Delaney, from a fan of many years. It's my understanding the Rosewood Telecaster George Harrison gave you will soon be up for auction. We are sorry this is passing from your hands, but would still like it to "stay in the family." Is it possible that rather than enriching a middleman and having the Tele wind up as some rich guy's coffee table, would you accept a fixed sum from a very large group of small contributors? The idea is to then return this guitar to George as a gesture of thanks for his gift to us. I thank you also for your fine music, and hope you will let me know one way or the other. Regards, John F. My family cannot begin to thank you for your generosity towards our "wandering musicians"! What an affirmation to find that someone of your professional stature is so willing to help out kids that love music more than anything. Josh has certainly undergone an epiphany of sorts, and will never forget you and Mamo! Once again, our sincerest and most grateful thanks--for your kindness, your generosity, your washing machine (since my mom didn't have to do it all when they got back), and most of all for your music. My college roommate & I were D & B nuts 25-30 yrs ago. We used to talk about naming our children D & B. I still think they made some of the most exciting & soulful music of that or any other generation. Even now, I'd love to see either of them perform. I'm in Topeka, Kansas and I'd appreciate news of any scheduled performance in the region.

This is a wonderful site. It's bookmarked and will be visited frequently. Delaney, you've been a big part of my life, musically, and was a huge influence on my hero, Leon Russell. It would be incredible if you guys could get together again and do some stuff. There was just NOTHING to compare with the soul-stirring music you guys could create. I have an old tape of you and Bonnie playing some festival or another in Texas way back in '69 or '70, and although the sound is pretty bad, the feel is there. I'll keep buying your albums as long as you release them. Thanks to this site, it'll be a lot easier to find them! Take good care, and God bless.

What a wonderful surprise to see Delaney making music. I miss those good ole' days when as a 17 year old wanting to play guitar like Eric Clapton I purchased "D&B and Friends on tour with EC. I quickly forgot about trying to play like Clapton and became absolutely enthralled by the sound of this husband and wife team and the music they made with their "friends". I caught D&B in concert twice (once at Carnegie Hall and once at the Ritz theatre in Staten Island, NY. I again saw Delaney's solo show at the Bitter End in NYC. I really was a great fan of their and his music. In the early seventies it was somewhat difficult explaining to my friends that I preferred listening to Delaney and Bonnie rather than Led Zep or Hendrix. I was distraught over the break-up but continued to be a fan of both D & B until the music stopped coming. To be surfing the net and accidently stumbling on the Delaney page was just a great find. Playing some of the Real Audio clips and hearing that voice put me right back in that zone. I will order the CD right now. Where have you been my friend.

You have ignited such joy in my soul to know you're doing well and playing your heart out again. I just received "Motel Shot" and "To Bonnie from Delany," via import, and it adds to the collection of must-have CD's. Your energy, enthusiasm and spirit of good humor and fun make you one of the most beloved and cherished musicans we have grown up knowing and caring about over the last three decades. Dear Delaney, I just finished playing Mobius Strip, as I do every so often. It's hard to believe that it was 27 years ago at United/Western studio A that you coaxed, encouraged, & talked me out from behind the board and into the studio to overdub a piano part on "Little Bit Of You In Me". Thanks for having confidence in me! Your sessions were always fun and sometimes a bit crazy, but the thing I remember the most is how musical they always were. censored, I still sit around and jam on California Rain, that one's so beautiful! Anyway, I saw your site and have wondered how you've been since I saw you and George in Santa Rosa in '77, and I wanted to say hi to you. I'm glad you're still making music. I am too! Love to you & yours, Jim ps - please explain me something : Why is MY hair grayer than YOURS????

Delaney, I cannot say how much your music has impacted my life. I grew up a preacher's daughter and wasn't allowed to listen to the radio. But, Dad always sang us kids to sleep with the blues and those old primitive baptist hymns. Music was such an emotional part of our lives & I'll never forget the first time I heard your music and how it hit me. I came across an old cassette tape that a preacher friend of ours had given my Dad. On one side was 'To Bonnie from Delaney' and on the other side was The Amazing Rhythm Aces. My Dad never saw that tape again. As a matter of fact, he asked about that tape just last nite when we met for dinner ... asked about a tape that he hasn't seen in about 10+ years (now that oughtta tell ya somethin')! ... Y'all are my musical heroes. Thank you so much for sharing your soul - your talents - your love - with me and people all around the world. The warmth and honesty that comes across through the music is so uplifting ... 'I Know Something Good About You' is that way ... 'Country Life - so sweet ... "Motel Shot" - what a real work of art. I could rave on & on, but I might be taking up too much space - I'm not too hip on the way these things work. Anyway, since that little old cheap cassette tape copy of your stuff, I haven't been able to let go. I have your latest release, Sounds From Home, and it is so welcome. Kim sounds great and is so talented too!! Thank you for putting it out for us to enjoy. I was born in Memphis, lived in Mississippi and different parts of Tennessee, mostly raised in E. TN., lived in AK and IN, too, growing up. I can relate with the things that you write about. But, then, people all over the world can too ... and that's how it goes for someone with your incredible gift. You haven't been handed the accolades that you so deserve. I am very grateful to have somehow 'caught up with you'. You've been a mystery to me ... I always wondered about you and never could find out if you'd put out any music for the public or were doing any live shows anywhere. Thank goodness, Walker Ed, for your dedication to your friend Delaney and the respect you show for your peer!! ( You're a great example!!) Anyway, through my music I hope that somehow I can touch folks in just an 'inkling' of the way your music has me. Music connects people. Again, I say, thanks for the connection. Rave on, Delaney Bramlett!! By the way - I need to hear you live!! I need to see you live!! Come to Tennessee whenever you can. Well, I'd travel far & wide to hear you ... gotta know where you'll be ... Walker Ed'll keep us posted, right?! Much Love, Micol

I got into Fleetwood Mac in 1987, at the tender age of 13. Through them, I got into Eric Clapton two years later. By 1990, I bought Eric Clapton's first solo album and "On Tour." However, I was only just a casual fan for the next couple of years. Fast forward to 1992: You can imagine my thrill and surprise when I found out Delaney & Bonnie's daughter Bekka was in Mick Fleetwood's Zoo. Long story short, I saw The Zoo live in Dayton on August 24, 1992 and had the pleasure of actually meeting (and singing with) Bekka. (Incidentally, I also met Bekka before a Fleetwood Mac show in 1995. If Bekka is anything like her daddy, then I know first hand Delaney is a wonderful individual.) That night, I went home and listened to "On Tour" and my parent's copy of Dave Mason's "Alone Together" album. After listening to these albums non-stop for weeks on end, I found myself wanting to play and sing like Delaney. To this day, he remains my favorite. "Why Delaney?" my friends often ask. I always tell them it's the purity of his voice, the complex simplicity of his guitar playing, his ability to effortlessly handle a multitude of musical styles, and his "you can all join in" attitude the he shows to other musicians. He is an encourager who sees the good in an artist. (Of course, it doesn't hurt that he has a killer guitar collection.) Also, Delaney is a revolutionary. When blazing electric guitars were the standards of rock, Delaney countered with "Motel Shot." When most producers would want to make a guitar-heavy album for Eric Clapton's solo debut, Delaney focused on Eric's singing (the one place Eric felt uncomfortable with). Delaney, thank you for your great influence on me as a musician and as a band leader. I look forward to listening to your new album, as I know it will be excellent. P.S. I just read on the Bekka fan page that Mamo is doing better. Glad to hear about it. My step-dad's mother (who I consider to be my granny) broke both her hips in the past two years, so I can relate to what you must be going through. Good luck. You'll be in my prayers.

If my memory serves me well, I recall a young Delaney playing as part of Gene Davis with Red Rhodes and the Detours on a LA based country music show called "Cal's Corral." As much as I loved his country singing then, I really flipped when I heard him integrating his blues background as well. I also used to own an album on Crescendo with Delaney doing some demos in a mock British accent. "Better Man Than Me"? At any rate, I'm glad to hear that there's new material waiting for me to enjoy.
